What Makes a Classic Car

Classic Cars
As children we played with matchbox cars, or Tonka trucks, but ever-so-often parents would bring out a vintage car or truck that they had when they were a small children. We were taught those trucks and cars were special, so we took extra care of them.
As we grew older we moved on to the electric motorized cars that if you were lucky you could ride around the back of your yard with them. Sometimes parents would bring out their pedal cars but once again those cars were special and you treated them with care.
Now that we are adults many of us want to restore those old vintage cars and trucks, which we rode in as children then later learn to drive while sitting on our father’s lap.
Those vehicles will always be special, some may look like they were just driven of the sale floor, while others will take a lot of work but everything worthwhile takes love, care, and devotion. After all the love you have for something is what makes it special.
Why Restore?
So many times people will see junk; it takes special people to see the potential in old, vintage, or used vehicles. Ask your self this question what with the vehicles of today look like tomorrow? What is truly the better investment, there was a reason that our parents wanted us to treat their old trucks and cars with respect, they had lasted a long time and would still be there when our new plastic vehicles wore out.
So next time your sixteen-year-old says mom or dad I want a car for my birthday. Buy him one that can take a beating and still keep going. Make a project out of restoring an old piece of junk into a new restored Classic. Thank about the hours you can spend with your son or daughter while they fall in love with a vehicle that you once learned how to drive with.
Then rest easy, because fiberglass does not fair well against good old American Steel. Yes new is shiny and bright, but old when restored is classic, vintage, and lasting. Someday your teen will thank you, not only for the vehicle, that means more to them then any new high priced vehicle could, but also because of the time you spent talking and working along side them.
Just one last thing parents or maybe it is a couple of things, but remember it is their project let them really be involved in it. The second thing is don't veto their colors or their ideas before you listen to them. Have fun and it can be a great learning experience for all the members of your family.

Restored cars are very b-e-a-utiful. My neighbor used to work on these cars all day, and boy did he restore them. Got rid of cancer spots and other problem areas.
